Histoire et architecture

1

The legacy of Victor Horta
Victor Horta (1861-1947) was a Belgian architect and one of the pioneers of the Art Nouveau movement.
He is famous for his innovative designs that integrate organic forms and natural elements into architecture. Among his most iconic works are the "Hôtel Tassel", the "Hôtel Solvay", the "Hôtel van Eetvelde", the "Maison et atelier de Victor Horta", and the "Maison Max Hallet" all located in Brussels.
The first three are already inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list. Horta profoundly influenced early 20th century European architecture with his bold use of iron and glass, creating structures that were both functional and aesthetically captivating.
